Chili Festival at the Rincon Valley Farmers Market

The 7th Annual Roasted Chili Festival 9am – 3pm September 20th at the Rincon Valley Farmers Market on Old Spanish Trail in Tucson.

This is our weekly farmers market. Aunt Nancy's will be set up in our usual spot in the barn, stall #15. We'll also have a table for Jewelry From Tucson. I hope to see lots of folks out there! Last year was loads of fun, with lots of food, a mariachi band, and many many vendors!

Craft Show at the Sabbar Shriners in Tucson

This past weekend I did a two day craft show at the Sabbar Shriners in Tucson. A good cause. There was not much traffic, though. Fortunately, I won 2 raffles!! :-D Which payed for my space. And I made a few good contacts. A lot of vendors were talking about a 3 day show in November to benefit the local Big Brothers Big Sisters. The word is, it's a good show, this is their 18th year doing it, it has tons of traffic. I got the promoters contact info and sent her an email to see if she had any spaces left. Yes, she does! So I'll be doing that show November 7,8, and 9. It will be at the Plaza Palomino here in Tucson.

Ray was willing to take care of our weekly Saturday farmers market. He said traffic was down there, too! I wonder if everyone was out doing yard work this weekend. It was the first weekend in a long time where it wasn't so hot and muggy.

Here's a couple of pics of my setup at the Shriners. I only paid for one 8ft table, which was plenty. I can fit a lot of soap on one table! Pics are not very good, but they are all I got! :)

FINALLY Listing My Fall Soaps

I mean, how slow can I be!!

Most of my fall line up is listed on Etsy. They include Pumpkin Spice which is made with real pumpkin puree. It's a beautiful color and smells like a pumpkin pie!

A beautiful looking, wonderful smelling Apple Spice soap, with shea butter and jojoba oil. I think this is the queen of my fall line up.

My Beer Soap is listed. Talk about lathering power! WOW!

OH, and let's not forget Peppermint Fudge Bar! I only have about 18 of these! Talk about looking good enough to eat!

I've also added a couple of multi pick listings. So now along with a "you pick 3 soaps" and a "you pick 5 soaps" listing, I've added a "you pick 2" and a "you pick 4". And of course, the more soap, the lower the price per bar.

Still to list is Ginger Snap, my newly formulated Rose Clay Fragrance Free Facial Soap, and Oatmeal and Honey. Camera is all set up, just need to take the pics and write the descriptions.

What's in the Soap Pot?

Today's soap pot is going to be Island Coconut. At first, I was just going to keep this a summer fragrance, but so many people like it that I will keep it going. I sold my last bar yesterday at the Farmers Market!

This past week, I made Lemon and Honey, and White Sage. The White Sage looks beautiful! They both need to be cut. Hopefully, I'll get to that later today.

Pics to follow later.

How Much Do I Love My Soap Molds !!!

A LOT!!

I can pour at a thin trace, no leaking whatsoever! They are easy to put together. WAY easy to get the soap out!

Here's pics of me removing my latest batch of soap. This is a Lemon and Honey soap, using my Wheat Germ Oil Recipe.

In the two logs

First log ready to unmold

I unscrew the wingnuts and take out the threaded rods

Take away the two end pieces, and flop down the sides on the piano hinges

Lift my 20 inch log of soap unto the cutting board

Peel away the freezer paper and I'm good to go!!

And if anyone is interested in one of these molds, Ray made a couple of extra ones and I have one listed on Etsy

Ray's Soap Mold

What's New On The Curing Rack ?

Well, there's an Herbal Rosemary

And an Oatmeal and Honey

For both of these soaps, I left an 8 inch log uncut. I am going to try to sell 8inch logs at the farmers market, see if anyone is interested. If not, I can still always cut the logs into bars.

Seaside Lavender

This is a soap that I made and put up for Sailfish Gulf Suites on Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island in Florida. Check out their website, it looks like a great place to spend a week with your toes in the sand !!

These soaps are quarter bars, lavender scented.
